Hi everyone! I don’t want to bore you with the standard professional bio. So let’s just dive right in.

You won’t find yourself sitting on a couch in a cold room while I psychoanalyze you. I prefer to live in a more relaxed version of reality, and I want to share that with you.

We can start with a brief meditation to help you ease into a more peaceful, grounded space. We can let your favorite album hum in the background. Or we can take a walk outside instead. I want to spend our time the way you want to.

Therapy shouldn’t be unnerving. It’s hard enough to share your personal problems with someone else, so why not make the process enjoyable? Therapy should be a collaboration. After all, I can’t expect you to be real if I’m not real with you, right? I want our time to be spent in a way that allows you to explore your concerns with clarity- instead of being consumed by them.

I find that too often, people feel there’s something wrong with having problems. But everyone has problems; it’s just human nature. It’s our problems that teach us how to be better- we just have to learn how to listen to them. Rooted deep in the unique web of any problem is a lesson, we just have to find it. So, let’s talk about your problems. Let’s talk about what makes you tick. Your passions, your fears, your strengths, your goals. All of the unique idiosyncrasies that make you, you.

I have found that methods from traditional and modern psychology are invaluable for understanding our own minds. I use a mixture of both, as well as aspects of philosophy, science, wellness practices, and ancient cultural wisdom that has proven to be timeless. I also like to stay up-to-date with the most current scientific research.

I am a musician, and my favorite part of playing music is improvising with other people. You get to play what you feel, but you also have to listen to what everyone else is playing. With practice, you learn to jam together. Life is an improvisation, it’s always unpredictable. Interacting with the world is a lot like jamming- you have to learn to adapt in ways that put you and the world around you in harmony. And like anything else, practice strengthens your ability. You just have to decide to practice. You’re reading this because you’ve decided to practice- so be proud of yourself! Let’s get your groove back. Let’s find your style so you can get back to jamming with the world.

I have a Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Capella University and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. If you’re interested in the scientific jargon, here are some of the methods I pull from: • Positive Psychology • Mindfulness and Meditation • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy • Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy • Interpersonal Psychotherapy • Biopsychology • Eastern Philosophy

Focus Areas: • Depression • Anxiety • Relationship Issues (romantic, family, general) • Trauma • Life Transitions

What makes me, me:

• Music- funk/jazz/blues/Latin/hiphop/classic rock. And of course, playing drums • Snowboarding and Surfing • Traveling • Sports • Learning (the never-ending quest for knowledge and wisdom!) • Family • My Bernedoodle Baloo- who can accompany us on any session!

The choice to embark on a path of healing is not a venture meant to be taken lightly. Healing requires vulnerability, courage, and open-mindedness. If now is the right time for you to embark on your journey towards healing, liberation, and self-discovery, I would be honored to join you.

As a psychologist of color, I understand that it often feels like these mental health spaces were not created with us in mind. For this reason, I aspire to create judgement-free spaces for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). I offer an integrated and eclectic approach that centers around your needs through strength-based, intersectional, and social justice frameworks. I aim to create an environment that is attuned to cultivating your vision for yourself. Together, we work towards healing and liberation at a pace that feels right for you. I support my clients in finding healthier coping techniques through awareness, skill building, and accountability.

I work primarily with adolescents and adults. My areas of focus include identity development, life transitions, marginalization and oppression, grief, relationship issues, positive character development, anxiety, depression, burnout, and perfectionism.

Let’s work together towards getting you to a place where you feel more ready and excited to go out and face everything that life has to offer. Please reach out for a free 15-minute consultation.
