Change is inevitable, but it doesn’t have to be frightening or confusing. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by life’s pressures, struggling with relationships, or caught in patterns that no longer serve them. If you’re ready to break free from feeling stuck, I’m here to help. Through our work together, you’ll gain clarity about your values, learn effective coping strategies, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself. Real transformation happens when we shift our perspective—and that’s where we’ll begin.
If you are dealing with self-doubt, anger, and ‘negative’ emotions, I assure you, you are not alone. I believe that every one of us has the ability to improve our own lives, our relationships with others, our relationship with ourselves, and ultimately, the outcome of our lives. But change is hard. Often this work requires help from others, and reaching out for that help may be the first fear you may need to overcome. If you have any questions or feel I may be able to help you in any way please feel free to book a free consultation, or email me at kristian@vividpsychology.com. I look forward to being a member of your mental health team.
A little about me
I have been on the path of helping others recognize their individual abilities to affect change in the world for over 20 years. I believe in the power of honest personal journeys. Throughout my life I have experienced first hand that meaningful positive change is possible at any age or stage. What drives me is witnessing the ripple effect when someone discovers their authentic power beginning the personal transformation that leads to broader positive change in families, communities and the world at large.
I am an integrative therapist by nature, incorporating a variety of approaches that are timely and suited to your individual needs. While rooted in neurobiology, I draw from polyvagal theory, Interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, ACT, and DBT. I am IFS informed, and have completed training in levels 1 & 2 Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University, a Master of Community Development from the University of Victoria, and a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Calgary. My own journey of continuous learning and growth has taught me that transformation is not a destination, but an ongoing process. I bring this understanding to my work, meeting clients wherever they are on their path with compassion, curiosity, and genuine presence.
I have a strong connection to the great outdoors and have travelled the world in pursuit of adventure. I have lived and worked in Japan, South East Asia, and in some areas of Africa. As a dedicated father I have begun the process of exposing my children to the exhilaration of scrambling to local mountaintops and planning backcountry experiences throughout the Rocky Mountains. Our connection to nature strengthens our connection to one another, and instills an understanding that everything and everyone are interconnected. We understand that helping others is really helping ourselves.

Kristin Munro (@Sundance)
(She/they)
Registered Psychologist
Compassion, non-judgement, empathy, and clarity are what you can look forward to when working with Kristin. Specializing in trauma-informed and attachment approaches, Kristin will work to support you on your journey as you become the best version of your Self—as defined by you. She believes each person’s story is unique and works collaboratively with clients to build a path forward that will create harmony within the internal system and restore a sense of balance, calm and clarity. Kristin’s approach to wellness is holistic, and is primarily informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS). She has experience working with the symptoms of trauma, attachment breaches, chronic pain, depression, grief, anxiety, personality issues, communication struggles, relationship dynamics, and a wide spectrum of other personal challenges.
Kristin’s own view on change, therapy and healing is informed by her personal healing journey after a long struggle with OCD and disordered eating. The concept that each of us has within us the capacity to heal through compassion, clarity, connection, creativity, curiosity, choice and courage is central to the work Kristin does with clients.
In addition to IFS, she integrates EMDR S.A.F.E., non-pathologizing views, and compassion-forward modalities in her work. As an EMDR S.A.F.E. (somatic/attachment) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level II trained therapist, Kristin’s approach is guided by research in attachment, mindfulness and sensorimotor fields. She also draws on therapeutic techniques from Gestalt, Feminist, Somatic Experiencing, Narrative, Person-centred and other complementary approaches as you work together to create a treatment plan that will bring the change and healing you desire in your life.
Kristin holds a Master’s in Counselling, a BA in Behavioural Science, and is registered as a Registered Psychologist with CAP. Before making a career change to counselling, she worked as a leadership coach, change management specialist and project manager in the area of human resources for many years. Client advocacy and working to help create safe spaces for speaking truth has always been a priority throughout her career.
On a personal note, Kristin enjoys the outdoors during all the seasons Calgary offers, whether riding her motorbike, snowshoeing, kayaking, golfing or cozying up inside with a great book.
Reach out today to take the next step toward balance, calm and healing! Kristin offers complimentary consults, as well as in-person and online therapy to work with your availability.
