Therapy

Do you ever feel overwhelmed or disconnected, as though you’re carrying more than you can name? Are you longing for deeper connection, clarity, or a renewed sense of direction?

I believe that you are the expert in your own life. Sometimes, however, we all need support to untangle complex emotional experiences and rediscover a more empowered version of ourselves. With over five years of experience in domestic violence work, I bring a compassionate, curious, collaborative, and non-judgmental presence to the therapy room—grounded in warmth, authenticity, and emotional attunement—to accompany you on your healing path. I provide inclusive, trauma-informed care for individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, parenting stress, anger management concerns, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and unresolved relational wounds.

My work is rooted in psychodynamic and body-centered approaches, helping you explore how early attachment experiences and internalized relational patterns may be shaping current emotional pain and relationship difficulties and even feel more grounded in your own body. I also work from an integrative perspective and, when appropriate, draw on narrative therapy, Gestalt therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the Gottman Method for couples—always tailoring treatment to your unique needs and goals.

Whether you are seeking a safe space to process pain in healthier ways, reconnect with yourself and others, or be gently challenged to step into new possibilities, we can work together to create a therapeutic relationship that supports emotional resilience, self-compassion, repair, and meaningful change.

If this resonates with you, I’d welcome the opportunity to connect and explore how counselling might help you.

Compassion, non-judgement, empathy, and clarity are what you can look forward to when working with Kristin. Specializing in trauma-informed and attachment approaches, Kristin will work to support you on your journey as you become the best version of your Self—as defined by you. She believes each person’s story is unique and works collaboratively with clients to build a path forward that will create harmony within the internal system and restore a sense of balance, calm and clarity. Kristin’s approach to wellness is holistic, and is primarily informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS). She has experience working with the symptoms of trauma, attachment breaches, chronic pain, depression, grief, anxiety, personality issues, communication struggles, relationship dynamics, and a wide spectrum of other personal challenges.

Kristin’s own view on change, therapy and healing is informed by her personal healing journey after a long struggle with OCD and disordered eating. The concept that each of us has within us the capacity to heal through compassion, clarity, connection, creativity, curiosity, choice and courage is central to the work Kristin does with clients.

In addition to IFS, she integrates EMDR S.A.F.E., non-pathologizing views, and compassion-forward modalities in her work. As an EMDR S.A.F.E. (somatic/attachment) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level II trained therapist, Kristin’s approach is guided by research in attachment, mindfulness and sensorimotor fields. She also draws on therapeutic techniques from Gestalt, Feminist, Somatic Experiencing, Narrative, Person-centred and other complementary approaches as you work together to create a treatment plan that will bring the change and healing you desire in your life.

Kristin holds a Master’s in Counselling, a BA in Behavioural Science, and is registered as an RCC with BCACC, and as a CCC with the CCPA. Before making a career change to counselling, she worked as a leadership coach, change management specialist and project manager in the area of human resources for many years. Client advocacy and working to help create safe spaces for speaking truth has always been a priority throughout her career.

On a personal note, Kristin enjoys the outdoors during all the seasons Calgary offers, whether riding her motorbike, snowshoeing, kayaking, golfing or cozying up inside with a great book.

Reach out today to take the next step toward balance, calm and healing! Kristin offers complimentary consults and online therapy to work with your availability.
